Finally a new destination ;o)
Vancouver, our gateway into BC, has a pretty impressive backdrop of the coastal mountains. To me, however, its real beauty lies in Stanley Park to the immediate northwest of the city where a forested peninsula provides a great recreational escape from the downtown and a haven for wildlife. The star attractions must be the bands of Raccoons that have become habituated to humans and freely roam amoungst the visitors. It's unfortunate that some people have been hand feeding the cuties which can only lead to trouble in the future, but for now they provided a thrilling and charming encounter.
We also saw four otters is Lost Lagoon which has the Downtown skyline as a backdrop. Where else can you see such a thing? We now head up north to Bella Coola in Grizzly country.
