Fantastic Mr Fox


OK Bob fans, we had another fantastic sighting of him this lunchtime. He's becoming brave enough now to tolerate me opening the window in his presence but he's still not too keen on laughter and loud voices.

This picture illustrates one of his distinctive features, the abrupt change in fur colour from blonde to dark at the base of his tail/brush. Whether this disappears as the season changes I don't know. Hopefully, we'll get to find out over the coming months. Hopefully, he'll also bring his 'girlfriend' to the field soon so that I can see if it is one of the vixens from last year, although the fleeting glimpse I had on Sunday suggests she's a young vixen.
