After what seems like an endless stream of fox images, I finally have something different to show. European Brown Bears.
We are in Finland, near the Russian border, at a place aptly named, Wild Brown Bear. The following couple of images of a large female bear were taken on the evening of the 11th September from a small hide in which we spent the night. We saw several bears, the photographic highlight being this lady, Lumikki (sp?), but as night fell we saw the ghostly shapes of a mother and three cubs pass by. Needless to say we now have a mission to see this family in the daylight, something a few lucky guests did while we were seeing the Lumikki.
Fingers crossed we'll see them before the week is out.
